The Garrison crash case has been gaining public attention over the last year or so after NewsNation reporter Ross Coulthart mentioned that he was told about a giant UFO that was “buried somewhere” and that the United States military either had something to do with it or at least knows about it. Ross didn’t get into the specifics on what he was talking about and left it vague on purpose, which of course sent lots of people to the internet looking for answers.
When anyone searches for more details regarding Ross’ claims, the Garrison case appears to be the one that most people find due to the similarities. That of course has been leading them to my 2024 blog post. It’s easy to say that I’ve been getting a lot of emails about this, and that made me want to try and find out more information so I could let people know some kind of updates.
Before I say any specifics on what I’ve uncovered, I wanted to state that everything you’re about to read was told to me within the last 2-3 months via email and phone conversations with ORIGINAL investigators that belonged to UFO groups that Steve Jones had taken out to the strange desert triangle, Steve Jones himself, along with my own evidence to support / deny those claims.
I talk to Steve fairly often and I think that he’s sincere and that he truly believes that this happened. I may not agree with everything that Steve thinks happened, but he did put a lot of time and effort into this in the past and I applaud that. The purpose of this post isn’t to talk bad about Steve or make him look bad. I just wanted to put that out there.
Contacting Additional Investigators
When I wrote my original blog post, I had based my blog post mainly off what Steve Jones and Dave Rosenfeld had told me. I had heard a couple of names of other investigators that had helped in different capacities bounced around from Steve during our phone calls and I decided to reach out to a couple of them and get their sides of the story. I believe that I have a pretty good picture of how everything unfolded and who did what after reaching out to everyone. I’m going to write a few of the names of the people that I contacted in case anyone is curious where I got my information from.
Les Velez

The first person that I wanted to speak with was Les Velez, a UFO investigator from the Sacramento area of California. Les was one of the main people that Steve corresponded with during his research into the Garrison case. Les introduced Steve to many of his UFO-researcher contacts, most notably Linda Moulton Howe. I don’t recall if Les has been out to the desert triangle with Steve, but I believe that he did from what I remember.
Les stated that he believed that “something” crashed into the dry lakebed at some point, but he wasn’t sure when. He did say that he really thinks that something is either buried under there still or was buried at some point but is gone now. When I asked him why he thought that he said that he thought that it was too much of a coincidence that the DRES buildings were close by and he referenced the geologist Lamont Sorenson’s report on the desert triangle. He said that he mainly just had a hunch and a gut feeling.
When I asked Les about the witness testimony and why that specific site was chosen as the potential crash site, he stated that Steve was the one that had collected the eyewitness testimony and picked the site. He said that he had no knowledge of who the witnesses were or anything about them. At least he was honest.
Ron
I know that I’m probably going to catch flak for this, but I managed to track down a good source of information named Ron who was one of the “inside sources” that tipped off Les, Steve, and his group to some of the UFO claims at the DRES facility. Ron wanted to remain anonymous so I’m going to list only his first name.
Others

Ryan Layton was one of two primary investigators that was with Steve when he heard the now famous story at the Outlaw Bar in Baker, Nevada regarding the child who was woken up in the middle of the night by a loud explosion. I’m not exactly sure how many times Ryan went out to the desert triangle, but I managed to track down an entry Ryan posted on a YouTube video that stated that he was at the crash site at least once in 2005. I’ve reached out to Ryan via email and YouTube but haven’t received a response yet. I know that he mentioned retiring from Ufology several years back on the internet so I’m not sure if he’ll get back to me.
There are a few other individuals I’ve reached out to and I’m waiting for responses from, but for the purpose of this blog post I’ll move on.
Additional Witnesses / Updates – The Witness Testimony
The Alien Dave website mentions additional anonymous witnesses to the crash that I never realized in the past. The website states that:
“According to various sources, a large craft of several hundred feet diameter crash landed in the area, clipping the top of a hillside and leaving a gouge in the valley floor before coming to rest.
There are also reports that some of the ET’s survived the crash and have taken refuge in the area, where there have been numerous sightings of ET’s on the ground. This incident appears to be related to the Kingman crash on the same date. This investigation is ongoing.”
I decided to reach out to Dave Rosenfeld (Alien Dave) and ask him about the anonymous witnesses. From the way that the website is written, it sounds like there might be 2 or more out there. If this is true, of course I’d like to talk to them or hear those stories. I got excited when I read that multiple witnesses saw the object hit the side of a hill. I thought to myself that if I could hear their story or talk to them myself, I could possibly figure out where the object crashed, which direction it came from, see the hill, etc. I also asked Dave if he could tell me more about the story of the child waking up during the night by an explosion and the horseback rider’s testimony that I wrote about in my 2024 blog post.
Dave’s Response
The Alien Dave website from the 90s / early 2000s is the main place where everyone finds whatever information is out there on the Garrison incident before my original blog post existed. It’s looked at as a primary source. The website calls itself the home of the Utah UFO Hunters. Naturally one would think that Dave would be one of the primary sources of information for this case, right? Yes and no. I’ll explain.
Dave told me that he had heard of the horseback riders’ story from Steve but didn’t really know anything about the story or who they were. He totally ignored my question about the anonymous witnesses that saw the object hit the mountain that was mentioned on his website. The website does quote Steve Jones though and not Dave when it talks about that witness, so I’ll give him that one.
So, my question is, does Dave know anything about this alleged crash at all or when he made that website was he just writing what Steve had told him without knowing anything about it?
I was told by Steve in a conversation later that week that Dave had never been to the desert triangle with him and that he didn’t interview any of the witnesses. He was more of an organizer than an investigator I was told. Why couldn’t Dave tell me that? The Alien Dave website section that talks about the Garrison event was basically a rehash of things Steve had told him and not Dave’s own research like I had suspected. Now I know why he can’t really answer any of my questions. That solves that! Moving on…
Steve And The Additional Witnesses
I asked Steve the same questions that I had asked Dave about the additional witnesses and the horseback riders.
Steve told me, “The horseback riders saw orbs in the valley after the UFO crashed in 1953. It’s reported in an interview with Richard Doty” and left it at that. This was reported AFTER the crash? Steve had told me that story at least 3-4 times in the past and he had never said anything about that being reported after the crash, Richard Doty, or that he didn’t talk to those witnesses himself. He told me that he interviewed those witnesses at a college in Utah. Did that happen or did that not happen? I’m not sure. Can that witness’ testimony be thrown out? I can’t prove that it happened, but I also can’t prove that it didn’t happen either. I can’t really say one way or the other.
When I mentioned the object clipped the mountain while it was crashing and sent a screenshot from Dave’s website, he avoided the question. So, did that not happen? Am I not allowed to know the basic story even if you want their identity withheld? Who knows.
Linda Moulton Howe And The Witnesses
There’s a reason why I never tried reaching out to Linda Moulton Howe about this case. I know from talking to multiple people that she completely lied about or made up a lot of this story when she talked about it. I don’t want to waste my time talking with someone who isn’t going to tell me the truth. With that being said, I found a video clip from 2005 where Linda is doing a lecture on the Garrison incident, and she provided audio testimony from a man named Rex Leonard, who worked at the Outlaw Bar in Baker, Nevada with the witness (Bart Wright).
During the audio clip, the man states that the witness woke up in the middle of the night by a loud explosion. When he looked out of the window, he saw a blue glowing object crash / land on the other side of a mountain. They don’t know for sure which mountain or which direction the witness saw this. Everyone assumes it was where the desert triangle is, and it could be, but there’s no definite answer.
Most of Linda’s lecture is nonsense, but I figured that I would post it on here for everyone to see.
Desert Triangle Update

The whole basis of the Garrison, Utah UFO crash is the mysterious desert triangle. The photos that Steve Jones and his group discovered are dated June 11, 1953. Other than that, there really is no evidence to support this event happening in that year. If you go to the Utah Geological Survey website, you can find about 50 photos or more of that desert triangle taken from the air like the photos that you see on the internet, but they go back to 1949. That means that this desert triangle is at least 4 years older than what the previous investigators claimed. The crash did NOT occur in 1953 if that’s the site.
Does that throw the story out the window? It doesn’t necessarily mean that the case is a hoax, but it does prove that the date is up in the air now (No pun intended!). This also throws away anything about this having to do with the Kingman UFO crash out if you believe in that theory.
When I did my research for the Ely, Nevada UFO crashes I found the legit crash site of one of the incidents and I know where the second one is (That’s another story). I contacted airplane crash investigators that are both amateur and professional to get their opinions on if they thought that the sites that we were led to (My team and I) could be the real deal or not.
*The Crash Investigators Background Information*

-One of them thoroughly documented some World War 2 bombers that crashed in Nevada’s Ruby Mountains in 1952.
-The other one works at a popular state museum here in Las Vegas as an aviation expert and has documented 3 very famous World War 2 and Korean war plane crashes here for the media.
I showed them the picture of the desert triangle, and I said “UFO investigators claim that this site is the crash site of an aerial vehicle from 1953. This site is supposed to be approximately 4,000 feet long and about 400 feet across. How big or how fast would this object have needed to be to leave that indentation on the ground?”
Both airplane crash investigators basically told me that the object would have to be the size of a modern 747 or larger, and that it would have had to have crashed at an angle around 15 degrees. They said the object would have had to have been going very fast to do that indentation on the desert floor like that. They both said that if an object is crashing straight down at a sharp angle it leaves a hole in the ground. If an object crashes at an angle that isn’t sharp, then it leaves a skid. So, using that logic, that triangle would have had to have been made by an object flying fast and close to the ground if it happened.
Conclusion
I think that it’s easy to say that this case is starting to look shaky. I personally am leaning towards it probably didn’t happen, but that doesn’t mean that I’m right or I’m wrong. I have a few things that I want to look into still before I write this case off. I punched a lot of holes into the desert triangle being the impact site. I don’t particularly think that the desert triangle is the impact site, but I do think that if this incident did actually happen, the site has to be somewhere nearby. The incident didn’t actually happen in 1953 if the desert triangle is the crash site. The date has to be 1949 or earlier if that strange indentation is what the original investigators thought that it was.
There’s one more post that I want to make on this event here in the next week or two with a BIG announcement. Trust me, the wait will be worth it! Stay tuned!
